About the Artist

1987年生于湖南长沙。2009年本科毕业于广州美术学院油画系,2013年硕士毕业于湖南师范大学,2015年毕业于中央美术学院进修班。现工作和生活在长沙。

陈牧甜作品由大量的神秘符号与柔软的线条构成,那些形似文字又已延展至图形化的笔触与图案,暗含着陈牧甜对世界的独特洞察,也是她发挥想象的幽秘空间,更是她深入理解与建立表达的系列隐喻。艺术家通过梦幻与浪漫的色彩表达,使得作品始终能让观众产生极具个人意识的理解。

陈牧甜独特的语言和表达灵感,来源于长沙马王堆出土的帛书,远古文化里的仙道故事与现代传奇在她的创作中交相辉映,空间多维且迷幻。通过油画、形色各异的布匹与综合材料以及新媒体和装置等媒介与形式,艺术家努力寻找着一种专属的思维和传达方式,试图为生活在现实生活中的人们创造一个能忘却烦恼、且充满奇趣的内心景观。近期作品中,陈牧甜更进一步拓展和探索着材料的变化与可能性,形式上愈发自由,素材更为广泛,而风格则更趋成熟,语言与气质渐成一派新形象。

Chen Mutian was born in 1987 in Changsha, Hunan, China. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in the Oil Painting Department from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 2009, a master’s degree from Hunan Normal University in 2013 and finished her advanced studies in Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2015. She currently lives and works in Changsha.

Chen Mutian's works are composed of a multitude of mysterious symbols and camber lines. Strokes and patterns that resemble words and have been extended to graphic form, implying Chen Mutian's unique insight into the world. It is not only a secretive space for her imagination, but also a series of metaphors for her in-depth understanding and expression. Through the dreamy and romantic color expressions, the works have always been able to create a very personal and conscious understanding for the audience.

Chen Mutian‘s unique language and expressions were inspired from the silk books excavated from Mawangdui Han Tombs of Changsha. The stories of immortality from ancient cultures and modern legends intersect in her creations, which are multi-dimensional and psychedelic. Through oil painting, various shapes and colors cloth and mixed media, as well as new media and installations, Chen Mutian strives to find an exclusive way of thinking and expression, trying to create an inner landscape full of wonder for people living in a real life to forget their fears. In her recent works, Chen Mutian has further explored the variation and possibilities of materials, becoming more free in form, more extensive in materials, more mature in style, with a new image of language and temperament.

肖婷婷,1991年生于江西南昌。2016年硕士毕业于清华大学美术学院中国画专业,2012年本科毕业于首都师范大学中国画专业。现生活、工作于北京。她的作品致力于大胆突破传统水墨艺术风格,将色粉和传统国画媒介融合,形成了强烈色彩冲击的视觉表达。她用个体情感的社会反思和融合跨界的表现手法,印证了传统媒介的生命力和未来无限可能。

Xiao Tingtingwas born in Nanchang in 1991 and received her MFA in Chinese painting from the Academy of Fine Arts, Tsinghua University in 2016, graduated from Capital Normal University with a BA in Chinese painting in 2012. She now lives and works in Beijing. Her works are dedicated to a bold breakthrough from the traditional ink wash art style, blending the medium of colour pastels and traditional Chinese painting to create a visual expression of strong colour impact. The artist's social reflections on individual emotions and the fusion of cross-border expressions testify to the vitality of the traditional medium and its infinite possibilities for the future.

1981年出生于辽宁,大连。2004年毕业于鲁迅美术学院油画系,获学士学位。2011年毕业于法国布尔日国立高等艺术学院,获硕士学位。

“逆向思维”贯穿着董大为的整个创作经历。在纸本马克笔系列的创作过程中,董大为致力于以技术去技术化,以专业反专业化。当人类的主观意识被逐渐淡化,物质本身的原有价值就在被凸显。通过以形似数学精密的计算过程,绘制出在纸本上自由滴落的一个又一个大小相同却又相互堆积、进而组成新形状的图形,这便是董大为在去除掉了一个艺术家在创作时应该尊重美术史、美术技法等“原则性”后的产物。同时,董大为对于客观事物的尊重也表现在他作品里绘画在石膏板上的风景中,掉落的色粉粉末中,悬挂在墙上的电磁炉中。

在董大为的作品里,所有的材料和绘画语言都变得更为纯粹,材料的自然之美被他呈现出来。正如董大为自己所说的那样:“无论多么复杂、深刻的内容, 我都倾向于用最通俗的语言”。

Dong Dawei was born in Dalian, Liaoning, in 1981. He currently lives and works in Beijing. He graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Lu Xu Academy of Fine Arts with a bachelor’s degree in 2004. In 2011, he graduated from École nationale supérieure d’art de Bourges, France, with a master’s degree.

“Reverse thinking” has been a part of Dong Dawei’s entire creative experience. In the process of creating the Marker on Paper series, Dong Dawei is committed to de-technologising technology and counter-specialising with professionalism. When human subjective consciousness is gradually diluted, the original value of the material itself is brought to the fore. Through a process of calculation that resembles mathematical precision, Dong draws shapes that drip freely on the paper, on after another of the same size but stacked on a top of each other, thus forming new shapes, which is the product of Dong Dawei’s removal of the “principle” that an artist should respect art history and art techniques when creating. At the same time, Dong’s respect for objectivity is also evident in the landscapes painted on plasterboard, in the powdered chalk that has fallen from his work, and in the induction cooker hanging on the wall.

In Dong Dawei’s works, all materials and painting language become more pure, and the natural beauty of the materials is brought out by him. As Dong Dawei himself says: “ No matter how complex or profound the content is, I tend to use the most common language ”.

His works mainly draw nutrition from the history of painting, with important practice in the conceptual art. 关音夫,1975年出生于中国黑龙江省齐齐哈尔市,2002年本科毕业于中央戏剧学院舞台设计专业,现工作生活在北京。

色彩在关音夫的作品中是最为关键的因素,它同时具有两种身份,即是视觉信息的主导者,也是物质力量的见证人。关音夫同时与这两种身份的色彩打交道,他设定色彩关系,有时候是对比色及补色之间的强烈对比,有时候是同类色彩之间的微妙变化,他安排色彩的空间秩序,让色彩构成渐变的序列,或者图/底的转换,在这些时刻,关音夫似乎是一个掌控全局的设计师。但他又不得不是一个遵从自然秩序的劳作者,面对着稠厚的颜料,搅拌、浇洒、刮擦,再等着它们凝结、定型、开裂,最终成为色彩秩序的一部分。

Guan Yinfu was born in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang province, China, in 1975. He graduated from The Central Academy of Drama with a bachelor’s degree in Stage Design. Currently works and lives in Beijing.

Color is the most critical factor in Guan Yinfu's works. It has two identities simultaneously, namely, the leader of visual information and the witness of material power. Guan Yinfu dealt with the colors of these two identities at the same time. He set the color relationship, which is the strong contrast between contrasting and complementary colors, and sometimes subtle changes between similar colors. He arranged the spatial order of colors to form a gradual sequence or the conversion of images/bottoms. At these moments, Guanyinfu seems to be a designer in control of the overall situation. But he also had to be a laborer who obeyed the natural order, facing the thick paint, stirring, sprinkling, scratching, and then waiting for them to condense, shape, and crack, and finally become part of the color order.

洪绍裴,1979年生于台湾,2007年获国立台北师范学院艺术与艺术教育学系学士学位。现生活、工作于北京。

洪绍裴的创作建立在对艺术已有认知的接受并怀疑的基础上,尊重真实的光、影、物。他长期以丙烯颜料堆叠的方式深入探讨绘画本质,意图从传统的平面二维空间拓展出绘画语言三元立体呈现的可能性样式,被堆叠和不断塑形的颜料形成立体的画面,平面绘画变成了立体绘画,而通过灯光的引入,几何形体的阴影也成为了画作的一部分。艺术家藉此讨论着具象与抽象的边界,绘画也由此生成出新的可能。其最新的画重量系列,则欲更进一步勘测绘画、雕塑与装置的媒材边界,他为作品所配置的为绘画称重的测量秤,实现了绘画作品可以像黄金或珠宝一样以重量作为计量衡来以克数计价的惊喜体验。这是对观念的颠覆,也是对绘画新的诠释与呈现。

Hong Shaopei was born in Taiwan in 1979 and received his degree from the Art and Art Education Department at the National Taipei Normal Academy (now National Taipei University of Education). He now lives and works in Beijing.

The work of Hong Shaopei is based on a scepticism of art’s received wisdoms and pays homage to the light, shadow and objects of the real world. For some time he has used multiple layers of acrylic paint to delve into the nature of painting itself and to develop an artistic language that opens up the possibility for three-dimensional forms on the traditional flat space of the canvas. The repeatedly layered and remoulded paint becomes a surface with depth, the two-dimensional becomes three-dimensional, and the protruding geometries transform the incoming light into a patchwork of shadow that itself becomes a part of the artwork. The artist thereby explores the border between abstract and actual, in which space the work gives rise to new possibilities. His latest work on the weight of artwork seeks to extend his investigations into the borders between painting, sculpture and installation. The scales he provides by which to weigh his paintings are a startling experiment into the notion that, just like gold or precious stones, the worth of artworks can be evaluated in terms of their weight in grams. Conceptually subversive, these pieces offer a new interpretation and demonstration of painting.

蒋小余,1990年出生于重庆大足。2014年本科毕业于四川美术学院油画系,2020年硕士毕业于四川美术学院油画系。现生活和工作于重庆。

蒋小余的绘画克制而内敛,他尽可能地剔除那些来自于日常图景或素材中的冗余和繁复,画面因此变得集中和纯粹,蒋小余试图通过对这种单一形象的深入洞察和异质化处理,刻画个体生命在现实处境中的复杂遭遇,从而揭示和隐喻人们在普遍面临外部多变且动荡的世界时随之产生的内心活动。蒋小余的工作尽可能地削弱叙事性,而更多集中在对情感和精神世界的探寻与传达,这些看似晦暗、荒诞、诡谲同时也透露着单纯、可爱与情趣的内容,既生动鲜活,也诗性盎然。

Jiang Xiaoyu was born in 1990 in Dazu, Chongqing, China. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in the Oil Painting Department from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 2014, a master’s degree from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 2020. He currently lives and works in Chongqing.

Jiang Xiaoyu's paintings are restrained and introspective, and he tries to eliminate as much redundancy and complexity as possible from the everyday scenes or materials, so that the images become focused and pure. Through the insight and heterogeneity of this single image, Jiang Xiaoyu attempts to portray the complex encounters of individual lives in real-life situations, thus revealing and metaphorizing the inner activities that arise when people are generally faced with a changing and turbulent world. Jiang Xiaoyu's work diminishes the narrative as much as possible, instead, it focuses more on the exploration and communication of emotions and the spiritual world. These seemingly obscure, absurd and treacherous contents, which at the same time reveal innocence, loveliness and interest, are both vivid and poetic.

李继开,1975年生于四川成都。1999年毕业于四川美术学院油画系。2020年毕业于中国艺术研究院美术学专业,获博士学位。现任教于湖北美术学院。

李继开是70后艺术中“新卡通一代”的重要代表人物,他的绘画向来以灵性的笔触和诗化的气质著称。他不仅延续了20世纪90年代“政治波普”在图像上的变革,更将图像与自我的主体意识有机的结合起来,并通过在图像叙事领域建立其独特的绘画语言,使作品的表达具有“新绘画”的特质,将延续自“卡通一代”的绘画与书写推进到一个新的阶段。

Li Jikai was born in Dalian, Chengdu, Sichuan, in 1975. He graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 1999. In 2020, he graduated from the Chinese National Academy of Arts with a doctorate degree in fine arts. He is now teaching at Hubei Institute of Fine Arts.

Li Jikai has been considered as a main representative of the post-70s generation of the New Animation in China. His paintings have been characterized by remarkable brushwork and poetic sensibility. In addition to following the changeoriented Political Pop movement that emerged in China in the 1990s, the artist brings together images and subjective consciousness, which allows his artistic works to have the distinctive features of the New Paintings. In doing so, he has taken the painting and writing influenced by the generation of animation to the next level.

李舜,1988年出生于江苏徐州,先后获得中国美术学院跨媒体艺术学院学士及硕士学位,现工作生活于杭州。李舜的创作灵感来源于摄影,光,是其中的绝对主角,而正负像画面之间的转换,又成为他作品的逻辑根源。他的创作呈现出多样性的状态,尤其注重各种媒材的表现力。

Li Shun (b.1988, China) Studied at the China Academy of Art School of Intermedia Art, receiving a bachelor’s degree in 2011; Master’s degree from the same institution in 2015 in Hangzhou City of China. Currently works and lives in Hangzhou, China. Inspired by photography, light is the absolute protagonist of Li's art practice, in which the transformations between positive and negative images are at the root of his works. His artworks are diverse, with a particular focus on the expressiveness of various mediums and materials.

Li Shun’s works have been exhibited and collected in important art institutions at home and abroad for many times, Including: Guangdong Art Museum, White Rabbit Art Museum, Power Station of Art, Art Museum of Tokyo Art University, HOW Art Museum, Long Museum, Foundation Tichy Ocean, ZHI Art Museum, Beijing Exhibition Center, Zhejiang Art Museum, Serbian Bell Art Museum, Beijing Minsheng Art Museum, Charles E. 陶显的作品充满了对当下身处的社会环境的反省与深思,理性和感性的碰撞,共存和取舍,以及对单一视觉与心理体验叙述方式的挑战,具有超验主义倾向的哲学性思考。艺术家描画的对象都具有一种动态的感觉,在画面的运动中,扭曲舞动的图像和饱满夸张的色彩被情感重新塑造,观者的心灵被无限次的触发,从陶显绘画中所获得的情感阈值也因而具备了超验主义的特点。

Tao Xian was born in Anhui province, China in 1991. She graduated from The Central Academy of Fine Arts with a Bachelor Degree in Oil Painting in 2013, she then gained a Master's Degree from Parsons the New School for Design in New York. Now, she lives and works in Shenzhen.

Tao Xian's works are full of reflections and deep thoughts on the current social environment, the collision of reason and sensibility, coexistence and trade-offs, as well as challenges to the single visual and psychological experience of narrative. The objects depicted by the artist have a sense of dynamism, in the movement of the images, the twisted, dancing subject and the full, exaggerated colours are emotionally reshaped, the viewer's mind is triggered infinitely, and the emotional threshold obtained from Tao Xian's paintings thus takes on a transcendentalism character.

文晢,生于1990年,现工作、生活于杭州。毕业于广州美术学院中国画系,2012年获学士学位,2015年获硕士学位。

文晢的创作以工笔画为主要媒介,画面语言深受中国传统绘画的启发,围绕散点透视、归纳简明、纯净透叠展开探索,试图结合个人表达以让古老的语汇催生出新的感知体验。在近年的创作中,艺术家以电子游戏的生产模式作为创作方法,让中国传统绘画语言与游戏数码语言在画面中充分对话。现实情境和游戏意象由此解构交错成慢慢滋生的虚拟世界,传统绘画中的思维空间成为了游戏与艺术之间的通道。在那里,数码拟象与工笔写实、正交视图与散点透视、素材拼贴与造型模件,在古今虚实之间,一种“庄周梦蝶”式的空间被渲染出来,呼应着当下诸多年轻人的生存状态。

Born in 1990, Wen Zhe now works and lives in Hangzhou. A graduate of the Chinese Painting Department in the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, he obtained his bachelor’s degree in 2012 and his master’s degree in 2015.

Wen Zhe’s primary medium is gongbi and his work is profoundly influenced by Chinese traditional painting. Using the techniques of combining multiple perspectives into one vista, condensing a scene to its key elements, and depicting transparent overlapping figures, he attempts to draw on the powers of individual expression to inject the vocabulary of classical painting with new perceptual qualities.

In recent years, Wen Zhe has made the mode of production of online games his artistic method, forcing the languages of Chinese traditional painting and online game code into dialogue with one another. Through this act of deconstruction, the interplay between real situations and online game images gives rise to a virtual world in which the imagined space of traditional painting becomes a conduit between game and art. It is a space that lies between the digital simulacrum and gongbi representation, Cartesian three-dimensional space and the multiperspective vista, artistic collage and modular frameworks, the past and the present, the real and the virtual. A space is rendered that recalls Zhuangzi’s dream of the butterfly and reflects many young people’s contemporary existence.

Yao Peng was born in 1984 in China’s Jilin province. Majoring in oil painting, he graduated in 2008 from the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute where he went on to receive his master’s degree in the same field in 2012. He currently lives and works in Beijing.

Yao Peng's works involve various media such as painting, installation, image, text, and collage.He has always perceived consciousness as a substance, its volume, energy and form, exploring the precision of the scale of intention between different dimensions and the ingenuity of the transformation between intentions. His work unobtrusively sets up hurdles in the appearance of reality, tantalizing the viewer with the definition of the world. He is adept at creating a light but powerful psychological tension and at controlling the radiation of that tension.

Huang Qiyou was born in Guangxi in 1987. He graduated from Guangxi Art University in 2010, and gained the 2020-2021 Sichuan Fine Arts Institute Annual Artist-in-Residence. Now, he lives and works in Xiamen. Huang Qiyou's artistic practice is mostly based on composite painting, combining his personal imagination in nature with a mythological narrative that transcends time and space, with the moods of oriental landscape painting and classical texts, he creates his own vocabulary of landscape figures from his personal physical experience.

Li Suitang was born in Chongqing in 1993. He graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute with a BA in 2015 received MA in Oil Painting from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 2019. Now, he lives and works in Chongqing. Li Suitang's work is conceptually oriented and covers a wide range of media including painting, installation, sculpture and photography. Focusing on the offsets of daily life, cartoon portraits of friends, innovative uses of public space, and slices of the lives of local residents, the artist opens up reality with a novel, spectatorial perspective. The real, delicate fragments of everyday emotions are condensed and projected into the images with highly charged brushstrokes, presenting some stories about young people.
