In 2023, nearly 100 schools from 22 countries and regions participated in this art festival. Among the works shortlisted for the 2023 Lantern Festival Gala, there were several artists from Gansu province including students from Lanzhou No. 1 Middle School with moving song “You Raise Me Up”, which happens to be my personal favorite. In my opinion, students learned English lyrics very well, with correct pronunciation which is definitely more difficult than singing in their own language. In high school students are very busy with assignments and studies, so I find their dedication to music and singing admirable.
2023年，来自22个国家和地区的近100所学校参加了本次艺术节。在入围2023元宵晚会的作品中，有部分来自于甘肃省的艺术家，包括兰州一中的学生，他们的歌曲《You Raise Me Up（你鼓舞了我）》令人感动，这恰好是我最喜欢的歌曲。在我看来，学生们把英文歌词学得很好，发音也很准确，这肯定比用母语唱歌要难得多。高中阶段，学生们的课业任务很繁重，他们对音乐和歌唱的这种投入令我钦佩。

Another amazing traditional Chinese music performance “My motherland” was presented by No.1 High School of Wuwei which was impressive as well. As a daughter of musician, I appreciate and understand how much practice, effort and time goes into preparations for a concert. Moreover, I do find it immensely interesting to see and listen to traditional Chinese instruments such as pipa.
武威市第一中学带来的中国民乐表演《我的祖国》精彩绝伦，令我印象深刻。作为音乐家的女儿，我理解准备一场音乐会需要付出多少努力和时间。不仅如此，观赏和聆听诸如琵琶等中国传统乐器的演奏，也让我觉得十分有趣。
The dance performance by No.68 Middle School, titled “Upwards to the Moon” was very memorable. Students danced delicately to romantic Chinese song, wearing colorful fuchsia pink outfits and matching fans. Whole dance was beautifully coordinated and full of femineity. It was a feast for eyes and ears!
吉尔吉斯斯坦比什凯克68中学的群舞《左手指月》使我记忆犹新。学生们身穿紫红色的服装，手里拿着扇子，伴着浪漫的中国歌曲翩翩起舞。整场舞蹈动作协调，尽显柔美，称得上是一场视听盛宴!
The Lantern Festival provides an opportunity for people to come together and express their gratitude. More importantly, the festival serves as a reminder of the past, a way to keep traditions alive.
